Department of Political Science and Public Administration (PSPA)
Political Science and Public Administration (PS&PA) is one of the finer Department. The Department was established in July, 2014. The Department offers a post graduate programme with the specilization of Political Science and Public Administration.
Mission: Department of Political Science and Public administration aspires to equip the students with knowledge and skills to engage with the global and India-specific issues and challenges arising in the arenas of politics, political ideas and political and administrative processes .Our mission is to serve the global, national, state and local community through teaching, research, and service.
Vision: The Political Science and Public Administration Department seeks to provide students with a learning experience that will equip them to face the challenges of an increasingly complex job market and prepare them to become active and engaged citizens at the local, national and international levels
Objectives: To prepare adequately competent students who understand and apply concepts, theories, and methodologies from different sub fields of Political Science and public administration to make sense of the world around them. To familiarize students with the latest developments in the discipline and enable them to acquire substantive knowledge of institutions and processes of government that shape politics within and among nations.
To help students relate class room instruction to the political and administrative processes outside the class, and contribute to knowledge-building through a commitment to equity, inclusiveness, diversity and concern for the environment. Political Science and Public Administration have its significance to create jobs. While political science deals with the various systems of governance and various thoughts and ideologies that go into shaping those systems, public administration deals with the formulation and implementation of various public policies for civil governance. The Department of Political Science and Public Administration of VSU offers a dynamic curriculum to prepare students for post graduate studies or careers in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors. Our department offers two post graduate majors: Political Science and Public Administration. The course is a platform for nurturing the talents required for an aspirant civil servant. The course also has guest lectures, seminars and orientations by experts to train the students for the future Jobs/life.
Programme Outcomes: After completion of this programme, the student will be able to:
