Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore, in its seminal role as a higher institute is grooming the careers of the youth to create a think-tank of resourcefulness for macro-stakes in nation-building. To accomplish this task, our Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor established student welfare centre at Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore in the year 2019 to develop a holistic personality of the student as its major objective. It is true that holistic development of students occurs only when they inculcate ideals of service, development of traditional values and loyalty towards culture apart from academic accomplishments. Student welfare division promotes these ideologies and facilitates the all-round development of holistic personality among the students.
Student WelfareVision To be a Centre part of Excellence to Provide Student Welfare Services Mission To be resolute in the arrangement of all students welfare services for the smooth running of the University academic Programs Objectives To establish an atmosphere for harmony and co-operation amongst the students To provide resourceful provision of all welfare services to the students and ensure the safety of students in the campus To shape the students into social assets, making them complete citizens alongside their academic accomplishments To provide a platform to showcase their talents to enrich campus lives besides pursuing their academic targets through conduct of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities To provide financial support to the students to attend the competitions at District, State and National level To provide the students a peaceful and pleasant environment to enable them to excel in their studies and personality development through career counseling programs Activities so far done:Student Induction Programme (SIP) 3- 9 th August , 2019 As per the guidelines of UGC, New Delhi this centre conducted Student-Induction Program during 3- 9 th August,2019 to promote pervasive goodwill and cheer to project existential urges of University Students. The Inauguration of the Student Induction Programme (SIP ) was organized in Seminar hall VSU College .Dr.P.Sujatha , Asst.Professor, extended warm welcome and invited the guests on to the dias . Hon’ble Vice- chancellor Prof .R.Sudarsana Rao inaugurated the Student- Induction Program by lighting the lamps. He welcomed all the first year students and said that the main objective of the organizing the Student Induction Programme is to familiarize the University campus and to identify the talent of the students. Dr.M.Hanuma Reddy , Co- ordinator , student welfare presented the objectives of the Student Induction programme and detailed schedule . Prof. Ande Prasad. Registrar, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Prof. KVSN Jawahar babu .Principal I/c were present and addressed the gathering on the occasion. After the inaugural event, the Head of the concerned departments gave the orientation about the department.The curricular.co-curricular and extracurricular events were organized to know the capabilities of the students. During the one weak induction programme several eminent personalities addressed the students on different aspects. The Superintendant of Police , Eishwarya Rastogi, SPSR Nellore District addressed the students about ragging and its consequences.. The one week Student induction programme came to an end with valedictory cum certificate distribution ceremony held at Sir CV Raman Seminar hall, Vikrama Simhapuri University. Kiranmai , Asst.Professor proposed vote of thanks to the participants, Teaching and non teaching staff of Vikrama Simhapuri University for their support for the smooth conduct of Student Induction Programme( SIP) 2019 . she also expressed thanks to all the resource persons and the University staff for their timely help and making this function grand success. By providing facilities and expertise through its infrastructure and faculties the university facilitates the students to explore and shape their talents. A wide number of students and researchers of different streams of VSU like Business Management, Travel and Tourism Management, Computer Science, Life Sciences, Physical and Chemical Sciences, Marine Biology, Foot Technology and Bio-chemistry, Commerce, Economics, Social works and Languages have a quality education which needs to be disseminated in the society. The Placement Cell of the university is established for securing our students’ future by giving a respectful job and opportunities to them. Thus, the main objective of the cell is to get students placed in reputed multinationals, Government Organizations, NGO's and the private sector. The Placement Cell acts as an interface between the industry and the students, and will primarily enable the students to select from their career options. The Training & Placement Cell will liaison with corporate organizations to provide suitable jobs and internship for the candidates completing their studies from the University Simultaneously, it also provides guidance to the students to upgrade their skills, which are required by potential employers in the dynamic environment. The cell organizes numerous programme such as seminars and workshops to enable the students of the University to improve their skills and become successful professionals. The placement cell of the university provides a place for employers to find manpower suitable for their requirements. We shall facilitate the selection process of all the companies as per their requirement in terms of logistic and infrastructural support. All students registered with the Placement Cell will be provided placement assistance, counselling for employment and self/social entrepreneurship.

INTER COLLEGE YOUTH FESTIVAL --2019First inter college youth festival-2019 was organised Vikrama Simhapuri University , Nellore and hosted by Raos educational Institutions ,Nellore , 29 & 30 th November , 2019. In two days 16 Events were organized comprising 5 themes -Music, Dance ,Theatre , Fine Arts and Literary events . The Inauguration of the Youth festival began with a colorful rally flagged off by Honble Vice-Chancellor Prof.R.Sudarsana Rao , with full of enthusiasm and vigor. Rally started from Raos Degree College and reached to town Hall Via Gandhi Statue . Youth festival Coordinator B.V Subbarao, Rao s Educational Institutions extended warm welcome and introduced the Guests on the dias . Inaugural functions was organized a at town hall on 29.11.2019 at 11.00 Am in a grand manner . Honble Vice- chancellor prof .R.Sudarsana Rao inaugurated the mementous event by lighting the lamps. He welcomed all the participants and said that the main objective of the organizing the Youth festival is to bring about cultural and National integration through cultural exchange between students of various regions. He also said that festival provides a flatform to express the talent of Youth and provides flat form to express the talent and team spirit of the Youth. .Dr.M.Hanuma Reddy , Youth Festival coordinator spoke about the guidelines and objectives of the Youth festival. Later the participant students presented different kinds of folk and classical dances. The audience encouraged the Performers showering the applauses. The student participants, accompanying officials and jury members actively participated in the competitions. The literary events were organized to test the intellectual capabilities of the participants. Based on the results, The committee declared tha the DKW College awarded overall Championship. The two day youth festival came to end by with valedictory cum prize distribution ceremony held at Seminar hall , Raos degree College , Nellore. On 30.11.2019. Vice -Chancellor Prof. R.sudarsana rao delivered the valedictory address in valedictory function . Vijaya Ananda Kumar Babu gave away the prizes to the winner teams. DKW College awarded Overall championship and received Vice -Chancellors Rolling trophy from the Vice -Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University . The selected candidates in Youth festival competitions such as classical Singing (solo), instrumental (solo), elocution, debate competition and classical dance (solo) were taken to 35th South Zone Youth Festival at Alagappa University, Karaikudi held during December 18th to 22nd, 2019. A total of eight students were actively participated in the 35th South Zone Youth Festival in the above mentioned events. During the stay at Alagappa University, Karaikudi, our students got an opportunity to interact with students in and around south India with different cultures and languages.
