Objectives : Skill India is an initiative of the Government of India which has been launched to empower the youth of the country with skill sets which make them more employable and more productive in their work environment. Our National Skill Mission is chaired by the honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi himself. India is a country today with 65% of its youth in the working age group. If ever there is a way to reap this demographic advantage, it has to be through skill development of the youth so that they add not only to their personal growth, but to the country’s economic growth as well. Skill Development Center, VS University offers courses across 20 different sectors in the District which are aligned to the standards recognized by both, the industry and the government.. The courses help a person focus on practical delivery of work and help him enhance his technical expertise so that he is ready for day one of his job and companies do not have to invest into training him for his job profile. Programs conducted by VSU-SDC for students of VSUC at VS University 1.Employability Skill Training : The main objective of this pragamme is to mainstream the socially and economically disadvantaged student youth through the process of Skill Development Training so as to make them employable in the organised private sector 2.Offline certification training programs : These training was conducted for final year students of academic year 2019-20 with MBA,M.com and MCA streams. For this program total 144 students were attended for 3 weeks. 3. Training on Soft skills and Basics of IT: VSU-SDC has organised a training programme on 2 titles “Basics of IT and MS office” and “Soft Skills and Communication Skills” for the first year students of all the Departments of VSUC for 12 days (24.02.2021 to 09.03.2021) at VSU Skill Development Centre, 2nd Floor of SPSR Bhavan in association with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) Nellore . The programs have designed as 40 hours modules and aimed to provide interactive sessions and hands on training to the participants. The main objective of these programs is to uplift the inherent skills of the students and to mainstream the socially and economically disadvantaged youth through the process of Skill Development Training so as to make them employable in the organised private sector. For this training Programme 92 students were registered for Basics of IT and MS Office and 80 students were registered for Soft Skills and Communication Skills and trained by 03 trainers from APSSDC |
