University Campus, Nellore

The University College was established in 2008 in Nellore and devoted for higher learning and research. It is located in Kakutur Village of Venkatachalam Mandal with well-planned and aesthetically designed buildings and greenery and clean environment and is joyful campus to study and work. Since its inception from 2008, the University College is successfully maintaining and catering the needs of the students by meeting standards and values in Higher Education. The College has a total strength of nearly 800 students pursuing different PG programmes, 50 Research Scholars, 32 Teaching Staff, 27 Academic Consultants, 10 Guest Faculty and 10 Administrative and Supporting staff. Presently the College has 15 Departments offering 18 postgraduate (5 Arts, 4 Commerce & Management and 9 Science) and 9 Ph.D. programmes (3 Arts, 2 Commerce & Management and 4 Science).

The students for the P.G. and Ph.D. programmes are admitted through the Common Entrance Tests (APPGCET, APICET and APRCET) conducted by the APSCHE. Both Boys and Girl students are accommodated in different hostels. The Hostels are equipped with required infrastructural facilities to cater the needs of the students. The University College has a Placement Cell which works in close coordination with the companies for showing placements. The University College has a Skill Development Centre, which works in close coordination with AP Skill Development Board, to support the students for enhancing their skills. The University College is playing an important role in Teaching, Research and Extension activities and contributing to the socio-cultural transformation of Nellore region by imparting quality and value based higher education. The Departments have expertise in various related fields and are engaged in research activities with collaborative programmes. The Departments of the College are conducting regular Academic activities like Seminars, Workshops and Conferences.

The faculty members have the distinction of receiving several awards and recognitions such as SERB Early Career Award and Best Teacher Award. All the Departments of the College are having an excellent reputation in terms of quality and research. Our curriculum is being designed to the needs of the Nation which helps our students gaining access to top quality placements. The Teaching Faculty is highly experienced and most of the Faculty Members have post-doctoral research and international exposure. The faculty members are also engaged in advanced research in their fields of specialization and a large number of research projects funded by several National agencies are in progress. Many Faculty Members of the Departments have been nominated as Expert members of several decision-making committees of National and State-level Government organizations. The Department of Biotechnology has been awarded FIST programme and are continuing to receive substantial financial assistance from various National funding agencies.
