The Department of Physics, VSU, Nellore owes its origin to S.V.University, Tirupati. The Department of Physics was started in September 1979 at SVU PG Centre, Kavali as a boon in connection with Silver Jubilee Celebrations. In April 2011, the Physics Department and this centre came under the jurisdiction of VS University, Nellore. In August 2023, the Department shifted to VSU Campus, Nellore. The objectives of the department are to impart good quality of education to the students of the region. To encourage the students and staff to do research in the applied fields. To impart good training to the students in the field of research and examinations like JEST/GATE/NET etc., To fulfill the needs of educational institutions in this region. INFRASTRUCTURE: The department has 3 class rooms, 1 Office room, 2 Staff rooms and 2 Research Labs with total area 3168 sq.ft TEACHING FACULTY PROFILE: The academic programme has been run with the help of 2 regular staff members - Dr. A. Sivasankar Reddy (Assistant professor) and Dr. N.O.Gopal (Assistant professor & Head) besides 2 Guest faculty Dr.K.Bhagyasree and Dr.R.Subba Reddy.
