As a part of Workshop, Dept. of English, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore has organized on “LGBTQ literatures – A New Phenomenon” on 28th July, 2022.  Dr. R. Prabhakar, Head, Associate Professor, Dept. of English, Vikrama Simhapuri University College, Nellore was the Distinguished Speaker of the day. 

The resource person attempted to analyze a systematic review of literature in broader social sciences disciplines, from 1985 to the present day, on the careers and workplace experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) workers. Discussed major themes included identity, sexual orientation discrimination, career/identity overlap, and social issues. Discussion and conclusions build on these themes. In addition, the resource person highlighted the characteristics of the literature surrounding this topic were also examined. The topic still remains under-researched; areas that require further study and exposition are highlighted. Suggestions are given to the participants for future research. This workshop is useful to LGBT individuals, managers, Scholars, academics in the field, and for wider policy makers interested in the promotion of workplace diversity.

In the inaugural session, Prof. G. M. Sundaravalli Garu, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University and Prof. .P. Ramachandra Reddy, Registrar, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore addressed the gathering. The Faculty and Students of the University actively participated in the programme.
